Both programs run the entire school year, September - June. Students may start any time provided there is space in the class; tuition will be pro-rated based on when the student starts during the school year.

Tuition is charged as a yearly average and billed monthly. A 30 day notice is required for discontinuing class.

Drama 4 Kids

Our goal is to offer non-competitive drama classes for children to provide them the tools they need for success in life: confidence and self esteem, public speaking and verbal communication skills, creativity and problem solving, effective social interaction and leadership opportunities.

Our approach is process-oriented and nurturing; we start with each child’s personal learning style and development and build on those to help them become their personal best.

Drama classes for children 3-6 years of age (4 minimum, 8 maximum enrollment) and 6-12 years & 9 -15 years of age (4 minimum, 10 maximum enrollment). There are 38 weekly classes from September-June (10 months).

For students ages 3-6 years, we will take children’s stories, songs, plays and movies and make them come alive! Children will take an active role in learning how to become their favorite characters. This interactive curriculum will teach your child how to listen, problem solve and speak up so they can be heard!

For students ages 6-12 and 9-15 years, our classes offer exploration and study in stage presence, vocal production, movement, puppetry, writing and directing. Classes focus on building acting skills and techniques, including the following components: warm-ups, speech (voice projection, breathing techniques, articulation), creative movement with music and partner work (structured improv).

There will be 3 theme based units throughout the school year that end in a showcase for family and friends. The Fall unit runs September - December. The Winter unit runs January - March and the Spring unit runs April - June.

Students will be allowed to start class any time between September and February, provided there is space in the class, but special recognition will be given to students who complete the full-year program.

Participation each consecutive year in Drama 4 Kids will be new and different so kids will never repeat a class or curriculum.

Materials: $25 for new students and $20 for returning students unless they need a larger t-shirt Students taking other lessons or classes at Musical Beginnings will receive a 20% discount off the drama or choir tuition.

Choir 4 Kids
For children ages 6-12 years of age (5 minimum, 10 maximum enrollment), this is not just the same old song and dance! Including simple, fun choreography, catchy Oldies and Broadway show tunes, your kids will love getting up on stage to sing together. Each class period will include vocal warm-ups to learn how to sing, learn new/rehearse previous music, listen to separate vocal sections, learn simple choreography, and a time for participants’ questions and comments.

Community Performances begin in December, before the holidays, with additional performances in January, March and June.
