Music Classes
We are not offering any Music Classes
for the
Fall 2008 semester.
Music Theory
This class is for children in grades 6 - 9. They will learn the foundations of the music language, including building of triads and chord inversions, chord scales, chord chart reading, understanding time signatures, rhythmic phrasing / syncopation, ear training/ability to play by ear. This class will give an overall introduction and prepare your student for the more advanced music theory classes.
Semesters run 16 weeks and class size is limited to 8 students.
Song Writing
This class is for children in grades 6 - 9 and will offer an introduction to the art of songwriting, including various song forms, genres, constructing song parts (verse, chorus, bridge, etc.) melody writing, use of dynamics, arranging and song/instrumentation,and analysing/breaking down a song. Each student will work at writing their own song throughout the second half of the course. This class will prepare students for the more advanced songwriting classes.
Semesters run 16 weeks and class size is limited to 8 students.
General Music
This class is for children in Kindergarten through Second grade. Students will learn all aspects of music in a movement oriented class to include singing, instrument exploration, music theory, dance, exploration of instrument families and more!
