Arts 4 Kids
Drama / Choir / Voice

Our Performing Arts program runs the entire school year, September - June. In both of our Arts 4 Kids programs (Drama 4 Kids & Choir 4 Kids), students may start any time September through February; however, new students will not be admitted to either program after March 1st.

Tuition is charged as a monthly fee, and 30 days notice is required for discontinuing class, no exceptions. No withdrawals will be allowed after March 1st.

As with all ensemble arts, please carefully consider how important each individual is to the whole group when you register for these programs. Because we keep our class sizes small, each part cast in a play or musical production, and each voice in a choir, is vital to the entire group. Withdrawing your child after parts have been awarded negatively impacts every other child in the group.

Please review our policies in regard to our drama/choir programs.

Drama 4 Kids

Our goal is to offer non-competitive drama classes for children to provide them the tools they need for success in life: confidence and self esteem, public speaking and verbal communication skills, creativity and problem solving, effective social interaction and leadership opportunities.

Our approach is process-oriented and nurturing; we start with each child’s personal learning style and development and build on those to help them become their personal best.

Drama classes for children 4-6 years of age (4 minimum, 8 maximum enrollment) and 6-12 years of age (6 minimum, 12 maximum enrollment). There are 37 weekly classes from September-June (10 months).

The months September-January will focus on building acting skills and techniques, including the following components: warm up, speech (voice projection, breathing techniques, articulation), creative movement with music, whole class play (new each week—with props) and partner work (structured improv).

There will be a student showcase for parents in late January before beginning rehearsals of the Spring play from February- June. The play will be performed for parents and friends and will include all aspects of production: script development, scenery/props, costuming, acting and directing.

Students will be allowed to start class any time between September and February but special recognition will be given to students who complete the full-year program. Participation each consecutive year in Drama 4 Kids will be new and different so kids will never repeat a class or curriculum.

Choir 4 Kids

Kid's Choir: For children ages 6-12 years of age (6 minimum, 12 maximum enrollment), this is not just the same old song and dance! Including simple, fun choreography, catchy Oldies and Broadway show tunes, your kids will love getting up on stage to sing together. Each class period will include vocal warm-ups to learn how to sing, learn new/rehearse previous music, listen to separate vocal sections, learn simple choreography, and a time for participants’ questions and comments.

Community Performances begin in December and continue once a month until May.
